As an artist, I am forever obsessed with the truth, and I seek to show the comedy and drama of situations and stories that we once might have misunderstood, mistakenly considered either evil, or revered as delightful and benign. For Mermaid, my goal is to show the tragic truth and consequences of giving up one's voice, and the realistic consequences of altering your physical form for the sake of love, that are both so carelessly and whimsically included in narrative of The Little Mermaid. I hope my film makes viewers both laugh and cry, reminding them of the importance of self-love, an the power of their voice. Thank you for taking the time to watch this piece of art that I am so grateful to have made with all my passion and love.
